However, you’re going to want to be sureall your presents are purchased and wrappedbefore Dec. 25 because many brick-and-mortar stores are closing their doors on the holiday this year.

While you might not be able to snag an extra toy to putunder the treeor pick up thatforgotten ham to put on the tableonChristmas Day, a wide range of retail and grocery stores will be open on Christmas Eve.

It’s important to note, though, that store hours will vary per location. So before you run out to grab that needed item, be sure to check your store’s local hours of operations first!

In recent years, it has become more common for stores to grant workers the day off for holidays. In addition to Christmas Day and Christmas Eve,Thanksgiving Daywas also a day many retailers chose to give workers a break before the official kickoff of the holiday shopping season — a turn away from the previous trend towards blowout shopping offerings on holidays.
