Jenni “JWoww” Farleyis a new and improved woman in the aftermath of her split from Roger Mathews, according to close friend and costarNicole “Snooki” Polizzi.
Polizzi tells PEOPLE that Farley, 33, is “f—ing amazing” afterfiling for divorcefrom Mathews, her husband of three years, in September.
“It’s like a new Jenni, a breath of fresh air,” Polizzi says. “She’s never been happier. … She’s like, stress-free now. She feels free. Her number one priority is the kids, and that is exactly what she’s doing. She’s just genuinely happy.”

Their split took a volatile turn in January after Farleyreleased footagethat allegedly showed Mathews attacking her in their kitchen.

Farley also accused Mathews, 43, of giving their son pizza when he is highly allergic to gluten and dairy, and claimed he intended to blackmail her after shefiled a restraining orderagainst him in December.
“When I asked you about the food situation, you chose to berate me instead of acknowledging that Greyson’s health is of paramount concern,” she wrote. “You hurt the children and you hurt me. When will it end?”
Mathews, meanwhile,responded one day laterwith an Instagram video accusing Farley of “playing the victim” and of spewing “many lies” in her statement.

“I sit here humbly before you today, a pretty heartbroken man in light of recent circumstances and things that were said about me in a long, rambling rant that was highly erroneous and had many lies in it,” he said.
Polizzi, 31, tells PEOPLE she found the drama between the two “unnecessary,” and felt it should have been kept off social media.
“I don’t want to speak for her and their relationship, but it’s just like any other divorce. They just want to be there for the kids, and I think the drama was very unnecessary. To go on social media like that…” she says.
Farley said in an exclusive statement toPEOPLEFeb. 1 that she chose to speak out publicly against Mathews in order to move on.
“In light of the recent accusations, I would like to clarify one point: I did not post the message to Roger to cause him any upset,” she said. “My intention was to protect our children and to liberate myself from all of the pain I had endured for so many years, to finally be free from the abuse and now look into the future more positively for the sake of the kids.”
