Josh Peckwas almost a member of the Cullen family!
TheDrake & Joshalum, 36, revealed on the Monday episode of hisGood Guyspodcast, withTwilightalumTaylor Lautneras the guest, that he once came “close” to playing Edward Cullen in the blockbuster vampire saga, only to lose out on the role toRobert Pattinson.
“I remember it’s like 2006? 7?” Peck recalled to Lautner, 31, and co-hostBen Soffer. “They’re like, ‘Audition for this movie,Twilight. It’s based on a book — it’s gonna be great.’ So I send in my tape … for Edward.”
“A month later, I’m with my manager. He goes, ‘It’s down to you and three guys. You’re close,’ " he added. “I’m like [surprised], ‘Really?’ I hadn’t even had a tummy tuck yet! I’m like, ‘There’s no way. He’s gotta be so shirtless. It’s not gonna happen.’ "

“Spoiler alert — didn’t get it,” Peck joked as Lautner and Soffer laughed.
Pattinson, of course, would go on to play Edward in all fiveTwilightfilms from 2008 to 2012, oppositeKristen Stewartas Bella Swan and Lautner as werewolf Jacob Black.
Peck recalled that when he saw Pattinson, 37, as Edward in the movies, “I’m like, ‘In what f—ing world were they like, ‘Okay, here’s what we’re thinking:Chris HemsworthorStanley Tucci?’ Like what the f—? Impossible!”
“That’s amazing,” said Lautner of Peck’s audition. “I did not know that. Holy crap.”
During an interview withEntertainment Tonight, the actress said she “had no idea” the series had been going through such a resurgence on Netflix.
“This is great!” she said. “I saw that it was on Netflix; I was on and looking through [it]. It’s weird, itfeels incredibly far awayand also still not that far away from me.”
Stewart added that the anniversary made her realize, “I’m old, my God.”
“Now it’s like, wow, I have to go to my high-school anniversary already,” she continued. “It’s rad. I think it’s amazing.”
