Jacob Elordifinds the possibility of playingJames Bond“beautiful.”
TheSaltburnactorreacted to the casting rumors, tellingExtraearlier this week his view on potentially inheriting the role of 007 fromDaniel Craig,Sean Conneryand other screen legends.
“Bond? James Bond?” asked the actor in answer to a question about his name being floated for the role. “Is that what they’re saying?”
“Oh my goodness, wow,” he continued. “That’s beautiful.”
Elordi’sSaltburncostarBarry Keoghanasked Elordi, “Are you playing Bond?” and quipped, “I’ll play your villain in Bond.”
Australian actor Elordi, 26, first caught fans’ attention in theKissing Boothfilmsbefore becoming one of the breakout stars of HBO’sEuphoria. In addition toSaltburn, Elordi is currently on the big screenas Elvis PresleyinPriscilla.

Meanwhile, rumors ofIdris Elba,Aaron Taylor-Johnson,Rege-Jean Pageand more have been floated as potential replacements.
“I believe we should be creating new characters for women — strong female characters,” she toldVarietyin 2020. “I’m not particularly interested in taking a male character and having a woman play it.”

Elordi toldGQearlier this month that another cinematic icon allegedly became a possibility for his growing résumé. “They asked me toread for Superman,” he said. “That was immediately, ‘No, thank you.’ That’s too much. That’s too dark for me.”
He added of doing a superhero role: “I’ve always been told to say a rounded answer or my agent will get mad at me. ‘Anything can happen!’ And obviously, anything can happen, but at this stage in my life I don’t see myself having any interest in that.”

It was announced in June thatDavid Corenswet will play Supermanin the upcomingSuperman: LegacyalongsideRachel Brosnahanas Lois Lane.
Elordi’s name was also recently mentioned as a possibility in theTwilightfranchise. On Josh Horowitz’sHappy Sad ConfusedpodcastMonday, director Catherine Hardwicke discussed a potential reboot and recasting of her 2008 film. For the role of vampire Edward Cullen, she said Elordi “probably would be Edward today, exactly.”
“That would be perfect,” Hardwicke added. “Have you seenSaltburn? He’s amazing.”
