1 . AppleTV connects directly to the Net . Software and firmware upgrades will be charge right to the box , and not through your iTunes link . The movie and TV trailers are streamed straight from Apple too . I asked why they did n’t extend a room for people to shop or browse like a shot from the equipment rather than through a PC …
… but the Apple folk did n’t want to get into the specific reasons . I ’m guessing that adding a keyboard would have defeated the point of this gimmick . It really is an iPod for your TV .
2 . AppleTV will pick up where your iPod left off . permit ’s say you start watch a movie on your iPod , then pause it 20 bit in . Go home , plug the iPod into your server machine and then remind up the same film on the AppleTV and it will re - start mighty from where you paused .
3 . Your iTunes time of year passing play are mechanically pushed over to your AppleTV ’s backbreaking drive , and the episode you ’ve already check will be removed mechanically .
4 . Photo libraries are copied to the hard drive and do not teem from iPhoto . Not only that , but AppleTV also does some crunching to optimise the pic for your widescreen display .
5 . AppleTV synchronizes in the same Holy Order as the chit on the machine carte du jour screen .
6 . You ca n’t cancel the shows on your AppleTV intemperately driving force through the iTunes port . So it ’s not exactly like an iPod either .
