Yeah , it ’s not much more sensical than that , but it make for a coolheaded story with a sight of pure optic - pop . Esterbrook may be part of the Pattern , or he may not . Though Olivia tear him at the closing of the episode , I have the feeling this is n’t the last we ’ll see of him .
