With the upcomingThor : Love and Thunder , the God of Thunder is going somewhere no one in theMarvel Cinematic Universehas ever gone before . Not Iron Man . Not Captain America . No one . Thor is now the first MCU fiber to have their very own fourth solo moving picture and , as such , it marks not just a long organic evolution of the character , but even possibly a pinch at the futurity .
“ There are these thing shout comic book that have a passel of chronicle in them , ” Marvel Studiospresident Kevin Feige saidin a late pressure conference wait on by io9 . “ And that ’s where all of our stories amount from . And if we look at the comics as our guide , there are plenty of other avatar of Thor that we have that we have yet to see . ”

Thor : Love and Thunder excellently draws from the very popularMighty Thor comic Scripture storyline by Jason Aaron , which introduced Jane Foster as Thor . “ [ Director Taika Waititi ] brought out the green new adolescent quality that I incarnate , and so does Thor now , which he did n’t in the original films , which was exciting and newfangled and fresh , ” Hemsworth said . “ Always this sort of North Star is about having fun — embody this space as a child who had been revel all of it , and being trip up up in the marvel and the fascination of all of it , and not getting bogged down in the serious form of nature that we can when gain films . Personally with these sort of plastic film , it ’s got to be fun . And that ’s what we ’ve done . That ’s what I connect to . That ’s what Taika has kind of insisted upon , and it ’s been fun . ”
The challenge , of course , then becomes surprising the audience each time . Thor : Ragnarok , Waititi ’s first Thor picture show , certainly did that with a layer of humour and levity fans were surprised and delighted by . passion and Thunder purport to do the same by take that humor and using it for a more emotional , amatory fib . Hemsworth thinks keeping the stories tonic has been the big challenge .
“ [ Thor ] has changed so dramatically over the years as I have , and that ’s what ’s been kind of playfulness — as the character has evolved and I ’ve had different opinions , I ’ve sort of melded and hybridize path and so on , ” he said . “ The origin story is , I reckon , not the easiest , but it ’s the most obvious one . There ’s a sort of band of rules and guidelines I feel like you have to sort of stick to and it works and it ’s conversant and relatable for people . After that is the challenge . How do you revive the part ? What can you do different each time ? And that ’s been the lavishness act upon with unlike directors and unlike casts and they all bring out something very different in you . As Taika said , I sense like the characters have probably become more me over the geezerhood and in , I hope , a fun mode . ”
