Thanks to Green Lantern , we ’re all conditioned to panic at the thought of a superhero character having an entire electronic computer - beget outfit . After all , it was so infamously bad , they made a put-on out of it in Deadpool . But technology has come a recollective mode , and every unmarried time we saw Black Panther on screen in Captain America : Civil War , the suit was enliven .
We know that there ’s CG in a peck of the outfits wear thin by superheroes ; computers obviously did a mess of the heavy lifting for Spider - Man ’s look in Civil War . But the extent to which Black Panther ’s costume was done the same means was n’t really common noesis until the writers and directors ’ comment on the celluloid . Here ’s what director Joe Russo said ( viaScreen Crush ):
[ They ] really did a net ton of work on that outfit . I mean , we had an rig that we used on band . It ’s impossible when you ’re talking about an otherworldly turnout like the one that the Panther wears , which has a certain glow to it because it ’s made of a woven alloy . We could never yield to construct an outfit like that that an actor or a stunt thespian could move around in without sweat to decease or that would capture the glow that we need . So what we stop up doing in post is ILM came in and paint over Chadwick and the stuntman . The rig is whole CG .

It ’s then confirmed that every unmarried underframe where the costume appears , it ’s CG .
This is by far the best , and most subtle , CG courting workplace we ’ve seen yet . And mayhap the awe instilled in us by Green Lantern can go away now .
