In a recent series of pic called(de ) hydrate , photographer Henry Hargreaves , who now survive and work in Brooklyn , demonstrates what happens when you remove the liquid from common sugary drink . “ After recently get word a health professional refer to soda ash as ‘ the cigarette of our coevals , ’ I settle to do an experimentation to show what ’s in soft swallow after the weewee is boil aside — in other tidings , dehydrating the hydrator , ” Hargreaves toldmental_flossin an email . “ Once roil , I took each remaining gist and teem it into a lollipop mold . Next , Hargreaves boil the liquid out of each beverage on a stove top and rain buckets the remaining sludgey miscellany of sugar , food food coloring , and other ingredients into the molds . The molds go into the electric refrigerator to inure , and , Voila!Soda ' pops .

The final result of Hargreaves ' experiment - cum - art - labor are unappetizing , to say the least . “ There was elbow room more sugar in there than I thought , ” Hargraeves tells theBBC . “ Pretty much all of the lollipop mold I made overflowed … The other shocking thing was if you accept the all-day sucker and put them into contact with water they became the drinks again . ”
Unsurprising , Mountain Dew punched in as the sugariest drinkable with 77 grams ( 2.7 ounces ) of the sweet stuff . But even the drinks marketed as “ healthier ” options — such as Vitamin Water , Honest Tea , and Zico cocoanut weewee — contained enough dough to create a lollipop . So stick to water supply for your hydrating needs — if you think convenience store beverages are good for you , then you ’re the sucker .
