Steampunk may be hackneyed , but this mechanically skillful elephant has left us speechless with its innovation and detail . It ’s just stunning , from tail to trunk . build over the course of three and a half month by photographer / designer / cool - guy rope - at - big Andrew Chase , the 85 - pound elephant automaton is made out of “ transmission constituent , electrical conduits , plumbery pipes and 20 - gauge cold rolled steel . ” The elephant is part of a book he is writing , name the Robot Trionic Morphatractable Engineer . As you will see in the veranda , the designs he ’s creating for that are even more spectacular than this one .
The whole thing has a Dalí feeling immix with a crisp , industrial punk opinion that is completely irresistible . At least for me , anyway . I ’m grease one’s palms it , whenever it comes out . [ BaekdalandAndrew ChaseviaBook of Joe ]
