Majesco has announced the GBA Messenger , an add - on for the Game Boy Advance that will rent users send text messages over RF from up to three miles out ( at least in rural areas ) . substance abuser type to each other with a practical computer keyboard , and the GBA Messenger can even receive and storehouse message while the GBA is off . It plugs into the back of the GBA ( like the wireless Game Boy cable replacement pictured powerful ) , piggyback off of the GBA ’s electric battery and should be capable to run for up a week at a clip . Majesco intend to demo the technology at next week ’s Electronic Entertainment Expo .
