Two tourist boats collided near PortMiami on Sunday, leaving more than a dozen people injured.
More than 30 Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) units were called to Fishermans Channel in Miami, Fla. at approximately 3:15 p.m. to assist with the accident, MDFR confirmed to PEOPLE.

Due to the severity of the crash, the City of Miami Fire, U.S. Coast Guard and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) also responded to the call.
According toNBC 6 South Florida, U.S. Coast Guard officials said that the Obelix and the Thriller boats were involved in the collision. The Thriller’sofficial websitestates that the speedboat is meant to take tourists on the “ultimate sightseeing experience” around Miami and can reach up to 40 mph.
Per NBC 6, U.S. Coast Guard officials confirmed that no passengers aboard the Obelix were injured. They also stated that the boat was “operating as an illegal charter vessel” and the cause of the crash is currently being investigated.

Additionally, a vessel inspection requirement was issued for the Thriller and must be completed before they can operate again, the outlet states.
The U.S. Coast Guard has not yet responded to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
